History

The 200mm f/4.5 was the long lens of the Fujinon M42 line from the first day and the longest most ST owners bought: the ST701 manual of 1970 lists six interchangeable lenses and puts the Fujinon-T F4.5 200mm first. It is a 5-element, 5-group lens with a 49 mm filter, 2.5 m close focus and a built-in sliding hood, and Fuji’s X-mount brochure gives it 490 g in a barrel 64.5 mm across and 134 mm long; the M42 lens measures the same.
