| Super-Komura 50mm f/3.5 for Bronica, automatic diaphragm (1965–66 on) | Bronica S | 1965 | — | — |
- Element and group count, automatic diaphragm and 77 mm filter are from Japanese Wikipedia's Komura table alone; camera-wiki and Monaghan's list name the lens without specifications. No weight, length, minimum focus, blade count or minimum aperture has been published.
- Name: the 'Super-Komura' of the family name is the engraving on the lens camera-wiki photographed; the lists on camera-wiki, Monaghan's page and Japanese Wikipedia write plain Komura. Sankyo Koki used Super-Komura on other lenses of the mid-1960s as well, and nothing shows that a plain-Komura 50mm f/3.5 for Bronica existed as a separate version.
- Date: Seiden's history on Monaghan's page places the Komura line at 1965–66, with the 50mm f/3.5 in the list. No source dates the lens itself more closely or gives a price.
How to tell them apart
- Engraved Super-Komura (or Komura) with Sankyo Kōki's name, on a Bronica small-bayonet mount with an automatic diaphragm; 77 mm filter thread
- Not the Nikkor-H 50mm f/3.5 or Nikkor-O 50mm f/2.8, Bronica's own 50 mm lenses on the same mount, and not the later Zenzanon 50mm f/2.8: those carry Nippon Kogaku's or Bronica's names and take different filters
- The Komura 50 mm lenses for 35 mm cameras are not recorded in this focal length and speed with an automatic diaphragm, so a Super-Komura 50mm f/3.5 with a Bronica bayonet is this lens
Super-Komura 50mm f/3.5 for Bronica, automatic diaphragm (1965–66 on):
- Automatic diaphragm on the Bronica small bayonet, mounted on the front of the focusing helicoid (Japanese Wikipedia's lens table)
- 77 mm screw-in filter, against 82 mm on the Komura 45 and the 67 mm of the Bronica standard lenses (Japanese Wikipedia)
- Engraved Super-Komura on the example photographed for camera-wiki; the lists on the same page and on Monaghan's call it simply Komura
- Super-Komura 50mm f/3.5 for Bronica, automatic diaphragm (1965–66 on): The only version recorded. Japanese Wikipedia gives eight elements in six groups, an automatic diaphragm and a 77 mm filter; camera-wiki's photograph, credited to joanseda, is captioned '50mm f3.5 Super-Komura'. Seiden's history dates the Komura line 1965–66 and includes the 50mm f/3.5; no end date is published.

History
The Super-Komura 50mm f/3.5 was Sankyo Koki’s moderate wide-angle for the focal-plane Bronica, the Komura answer to Bronica’s own Nikkor-H 50mm f/3.5. Seiden’s history on Monaghan’s page lists it among the Komura lenses of 1965–66, the two years in which the Komura line was marketed by the US Bronica importer; Japanese Wikipedia records the lenses as sold by Sankyo Koki. The photograph on camera-wiki shows the engraving Super-Komura, the prefix Sankyo Koki put on a number of its mid-1960s lenses, while every list names it simply Komura 50mm f/3.5; there is no sign of two versions.
Japanese Wikipedia’s table is the only published specification: eight elements in six groups, the most glass of any Komura for the Bronica, an automatic diaphragm and a 77 mm screw-in filter. The automatic diaphragm places it on the small bayonet at the front of the Bronica focusing helicoid, the mount shared by every lens from 40 to 200 mm, so it fits the Z/D and S with their built-in focusing tube as well as the C, S2, S2A and EC series with the removable helicoid. Weight, length, minimum focus and blade count are unpublished.
No review of the lens has been found, and the Bronica forum opinion that survives treats the Komuras as a group, rated below the Nikkors. It is rarer on the market than the Nikkor 50 and usually turns up described as a Komura or Sankyo Kohki 50mm for Bronica S2 or S2A, sometimes with the Super-Komura engraving quoted.
This history is AI-written, from the sources listed at the foot of the page. Where the record is silent it says so rather than filling the gap — but no human wrote these sentences.
